Career Services is here to help you discover, develop, and achieve your strengths, your career, and your future! We provide services to enrolled undergraduate, graduate, and professional level students of all majors and disciplines. We also assist alumni with the career development process through lifetime service. Contact us to learn more about a particular offering.
Career Counseling Appointments
You don't have to navigate the career development process alone! Meeting with counselors can help you understand yourself and your options, as well as develop a plan of action to help you gain confidence in your ability to make good decisions. Our dedicated career counselors are available to meet with you to discuss all aspects of your career planning including:
- Choosing a major or career
- Finding a job or internship
- Exploring graduate or professional school options
- Many more career topics!

Express Career Consult
Same day 20 minute appointments offer you a chance to get immediate help with short inquiries such as:
- Resume and cover letter review
- Question about upcoming interview
- Brief job or internship search tips
- Intro to major and career exploration
Slots open at 9 a.m. each morning and are filled on first-come, first-served basis. We recommend you reserve your Express appointment early in the day by calling or stopping by the office. If you would like a longer time frame to meet with a career counselor, please schedule an individual counseling appointment.

Brent D. Arcangel Career Resource Library
Visit our library in 259 Capen Hall to use the large selection of print and electronic resources available to explore careers, jobs, and graduate/professional schools. Our staff is available regularly in the library to assist you.
On-Campus Interviewing Program
Employers regularly visit campus to recruit talented UB students for jobs and internships. Submit your resume in BullsEye to be considered for these opportunities.
Students can establish valuable mentor connections through the more than 550 professionals who have volunteered to help students explore careers, network, job shadow, and much more.
Workshops and Seminars
Gain valuable information by attending a career workshop or seminar. Examples of topics include resume writing, salary negotiation, technical internships, government careers, and more.

UBE 202 Career Planning Course
This 3-credit course can help undecided freshmen and sophomores with the career decision-making process. The course involves self-assessments, occupational exploration, industry research, and career skill building.
Our testing facility offers a variety of computerized tests for continuing education and employment purposes. Tests include the CLEP, GRE, TOEFL, MAT, MCAT, PRAXIS and more.
